Nicholas Kristof of the NY Times has an excellent editorial about the lack of tolerance of many liberals to Christians. He's entirely right. It's funny how two factions that both preach acceptance and tolerance have such difficulty accepting and tolerating each other.

A fascinating article on slot machines. I've probably played the slots a half dozen times; I never saw the appeal. Maybe I have already built up a tolerance for that kind of risk/reward feedback mechanism by growing up in the age of computer games. It seemed too mechanical; give me blackjack or poker any day. Actually, hold that; I'm not planning on going into a casino until I am far less attached to my money than I am today. I can lose money on the stock market without having to fly to Las Vegas.

Malcolm Gladwell has another article up, this one on ketchup. On a slightly related subject, Teresa Heinz Kerry doesn't actually participate at all in the management of the company and owns about 4% of the company, and its income goes to the Heinz Foundation, not to the Kerrys (source). FYI.
